Branch Manager, Waltham In-Store

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Director of Retail Banking, the manager will oversee the operation of a branch office to ensure that quality service is delivered to current and prospective customers and compliance with regulations affecting the branch operations and security are satisfied.  Requires extensive contact with customers, the public, and the community and must conduct relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall marketing efforts of the Bank. Consistently leads by example through colleague engagement, sales leadership and outstanding customer service in alignment with the bank’s customer service program

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience managing staff and extensive knowledge of Bank products, services, policies and operational procedures.    Must have a demonstrated history of strong service, sales performance and management success.  Strong organizational and time management skills a must. Computer proficiency, excellent verbal and written communications skills, and an ability to prioritize.  Ability to manage through adversity and adapt to an ever-changing work environment.  Ability to obtain an NMLS (National Mortgage Licensing System) identification number and accuracy inputting consumer lending applications.   Must be flexible with work schedule; will include some Saturdays and one evening.

Specific Job Functions:

  • Exercises the usual authority of a manager concerning performance plans and reviews, promotions, salary recommendations, warnings, disciplinary action up to and including terminations.
  • Prepares branch schedule, coaches, develops and inspires staff to maximize their potential.
  • Through tested techniques, engages in sales and service coaching sessions with sales staff.
  • Proactively guides the sales activities of the assistant manager and staff toward achievement of their personal sales objectives, as well as established branch goals.
  • Ensures on time opening and closing of branch with staff scheduled to accommodate the business activity.
  • Manages customer service levels within the branch, adhering to established guidelines
  • Enhances marketing efforts of the bank by actively participating in a business call program, new product solutions and services c ensuring that service provided meets customer needs and expectations.
  • Assists with daily tracking of branch sales.
  • Enforces branch security policy, monitors working order of alarms, cameras and surveillance cameras systems as scheduled.
  • Oversees controls on the cash vault, cash audits, CTR’s, and the log of large currency transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with required banking laws, statutory and regulatory requirements, and internal security and compliance policy.
  • Ensures compliance with laws regarding abandoned property, levy attachments, court orders, etc.
  • Originates, underwrites and disburses consumer loan applications including passbook loans, personal loans and overdraft loans.
  • Refers mortgage applications to the loan department.
  • Participates in local community affairs and obtains membership in local organizations. (i.e. Chamber of Commerce, local non-profits, etc.); participation in city/town events, engaging local business networks, and the like.
  • Provides routine maintenance of the ATM including cash and paper receipts, and oversees the daily settlement.
  • May balance assigned general ledger accounts monthly.
  • Knowledgeable of the teller functions and branch operations.
  • Conducts regular training with staff on products / services, computer system, and policies and procedures.
  • Oversees supply ordering for the branch.
