Belmont Savings Announces Gifts of Hope Sponsorship
Belmont - Belmont Savings Bank today announced it has donated $500 to the “Gifts of Hope” campaign benefitting the Belmont Food Pantry.
The Belmont Citizen-Herald is again presenting the annual “Gifts of Hope” campaign. On December 6, the Belmont Media Center will be hosting a “Gifts of Hope” telethon to raise funds for the campaign. During the telethon, Nancy Sarris from Belmont Savings Bank will make a guest appearance to be recognized for the Bank’s contribution to the cause. Last year, the telethon raised approximately $4,000 for the Belmont Food Pantry.
Since its creation, the Belmont Savings Bank Foundation has given over $400,000 to over 40 nonprofits and educational institutions in Belmont, Watertown, Waltham, Newton and Cambridge. This includes their recent $200,000 matching grant to restore the Underwood Pool, the first municipal pool in the United States, and their contributions to the Joey’s Park Community Build.
Recently, Belmont Savings presented a $375 check from the Belmont Recycle Day’s non-mandatory collection basket to the Belmont Food Pantry.
The Belmont Food Pantry currently serves over 150 families in need.
