Belmont Savings Announces Sponsorship of Newtonville Village Day
NEWTON - Belmont Savings Bank will sponsor the second annual Newtonville Village Day and Jazz Festival, the first event in Newton to feature Belmont Savings Bank sponsored activities, including their Cash Cube, which is supporting Newton Schools Foundation. The September 29 event is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
“Newtonville Village Day represents our first community event in Newton, and we are thrilled to be participating in what is sure to become an annual tradition in the community,” said Bob Mahoney, Belmont Savings Bank President and CEO. “This is a great opportunity for Newton residents to meet Belmont Savings Bank, and understand that while we offer all the services and products of the big banks, we are first and foremost committed to serving Newton as part of the community.”
Conceived by Mayor Setti Warren, Newtonville Village Day is part of Newton’s 13 Villages, One Community campaign, which works closely with the business community to promote commerce across the city. The event will feature a variety of activities for individuals of all ages. Attractions include rides, arts and crafts booths, face painting, live jazz, and a variety of dance performances.
Attendees are encouraged to stop by Belmont Savings Bank’s tent, located by the bridge over the pike (in front of CVS) for balloons, a free raffle and a chance to jump into the Cash Cube, where proceeds will support the Newton Schools Foundation. Recently, Belmont Savings Bank opened a new full-service in-store branch at the Shaw’s overlooking the Mass Pike in Newtonville.
