Belmont Savings Bank Celebrates Town Day with Annual Car Show, Introduces Dog Show
BELMONT - Belmont Savings Bank announced today it will again be the proud sponsor of Belmont Town Day, to be held on Saturday, May 17 from 9am4pm. Town Day is a community-wide event that features a number of Belmont Savings-sponsored activities, including a car show, cash cube, face painting, pony rides and – for the first time – a dog show.
“Belmont Savings is proud to once again be the presenting sponsor for this year’s Town Day, and we invite everyone to attend and enjoy the day’s many festivities, including our fourth annual car show and our first annual Belmont Savings dog show,” said Bob Mahoney, President and CEO of Belmont Savings Bank. “Town Day is a rich part of Belmont’s legacy, and we welcome residents and non-â€residents alike on May 17th.”
Belmont Savings will be hosting its first annual dog show beginning at noon on the main stage. Prizes will be awarded for categories such as Best Trick and Cutest Puppy. Town Day attendees will select the best in
$100 Belmont Pet Supply gift card while each entrant will receive a gift bag featuring a $10 Belmont Pet Supply gift card and $15 gift certificate from Above and Beyond Pet Services. Dogs should enter before May 1st to become eligible in the Bank’s Facebook Favorite contest.
Town Day schedule includes face painting in front of the Belmont Savings main branch located at 2 Leonard Street and pony rides from 10:30am-2:30pm under the Leonard Street bridge, also sponsored by Belmont Savings Bank.
Belmont Savings Bank introduced the car exhibit in 2011, giving proud area collectors an opportunity to show off their pristine cars. Originally showcasing 12 cars, the show has grown to over 40 cars.
The cars will be at 2 Leonard Street and along Moore Street in Belmont Center. Participating cars are displayed in the "Monterey" style, parked angled to the sidewalk. Anyone interested in displaying their cars can contact Mike DeMarco, Belmont Savings Bank marketing director, at 617-484-6700.
Attendees will also have a chance to enter the cash cube adjacent to the Belmont Savings booth, where they can try their luck at catching flying dollar bills. Running from 11am-1pm, participants may enter the cash cube, with half the collected dollars being donated to the Foundation for Belmont Education.
Photos from the event, including pictures of the cars, will be posted to Belmont Savings’ Facebook page
